Sterilization

Sterilization – is the process under which the RBI absorbs excess liquidity in the economy. Recently RBI was sterilizing the excess liquidity/ expansion in supply created by foreign capital inflows. The RBI has been using OMOs (selling of securities) and issuing Market Stabilisation Bonds for sterilization purpose.
